    ... mountains it is pretty impressive. But the roads remain a nightmare constantly. There is no footpath and I have come close to being run over man y times. Also, when we are travelling in a bus or car, I fli! nch ever y time that another car passes us because the roads are incredibly narrow and all of the cars have extensive scrapes down both sides.The Amalfi Coast is a nice place to spend a couple of days if you are in Italy... As long as you don't mind steps! ...

    ... a gelato shop about his 300 lemon trees which all grow espaliered. With trepidation we boarded the bus for Positano. Having a seat made the journey dull by comparison. It was a hot day of 29 degrees.     ... church lit up with a show of lights then fireworks, they must have known we were coming. There is a parade tomorrow and then on Friday the locals prepare food for everyone to celebrate the new domed roof on the church.

    ... there were some good dishes, overall it felt like Hosteria "tried too hard" and perhaps over-complicated some dishes.

    - A speciality of the region. colatura is an anchovy essence used to impart a stunning unami taste. Mixed simply with spaghetti and parsley, I gobbled this stuff up for lunch at Tramonto d'Oro.

    - And to finish things off, a delectable pastry - the sfogliatelle, a regional delicacy at Panza in Amalfi.
