My shades fell off my head while running, but i wasn't going back for them. NO WAY! They drew blood and it hurt for a good 24hrs. As I hunched over the bike forcing the pedals to turn, like a demented ice crushing machine I felt ...

We stopped at a shop nearby and waited for the rain to stop, while the great tour team fixed broken bikes. Everyone road out of that stop with a lot of caution as the roads were still wet.

thankfully the rain cleared, the roads dried and we spent the next two legs puffing under the midday heat. Riding through beautiful tourist towns, with lovely beaches and a cool breeze off the water was a nice change.

We ploughed ourselves into the next leg, into ...

... were nine elephants at the preserve, although we only saw eight of them. One had to be put much further back, away from the other elephants, and far from visitors. His is a very sad story: he had been mutilated late one night; some poachers broke into the preserve and cut off his tusks. This is very painful for elephants, and not only was he in horrible pain, but also distrustful of people after that act. So we were ...
