Hamish and I took a train and bus up to Each-Sur- Sure. A very pretty region that is part of one of the Luxembourg National Parks. The trees were past there autumn best, but still pretty. We started off by exploring the castle... now a well preserved ruin, that sits above a town that is in the"u" bend of the river Sure. Then we walked along the river banks towards Lultzhausen. It was a track some ...

Only the boy is still alive and still lives in Bastogne. He lost his parents during the bombing. The town was ruined but they have rebuilt it. We spent over three hours following their stories. Even the town centre didn't look very appealing, so we decided to press on to Spa, home ...

... from the Belgian border. For €16 we're parked right beside a small river (by Rhine standards, a stream). And we've had a drink too at the Bistro on the campsite. We could even have had a meal, but Sandra is busy preparing the Friday evening banquet. Little else to report, but hoping for a nice day in Spa tomorrow. Beer should be an improvement anyway...Belgian. Tonight we're celebrating 6000 miles in Wanda in not much more than a year. Cheers! Mileage: ...

24 hours in Liege, 24 hours of eating

A travel blog entry by rachbritton on Sep 07, 2015

I've spent the last 24 hours living out my foodie dreams in Liege in Belgium. Louise and I have finally caught up! We were to meet in Liege, which is where her eldest sister lives. We would be staying there on Sunday night.

I arrived in Liege on a delayed train in the early evening. Louise’s train arrived on time, so she waited for me. And as instructed, we observed the very expensive roof installed at ...
