      ... with frescoes in various states of repair - as well as one "living church" and home of now six nuns - who maintain the gardens and sell linens. This church has a visiting priest once a week and has some unique brightly painted frescoes. There are also a lot of stray cats there. Besides the churches - all are in ruins except the one tended by the nuns - there are the ruins of the Palace of the Despots. The first part was built by some Crusaders with some gothic arches; latter ...

      ... bays. Not the worst place to hang out for a day. Camping in the backyard of an entrepreneurial local we were offered free coffees and chocolates for under a tenner a night. Everyone we spoke to assured us Ksamil is pumping in the summer months but to us it had a ghostly but still beautiful beach vibe. Sadly unchecked development and insufficient garbage disposal is quickly gobbling up any sea frontage, so hot tip, get here soon and enjoy dirt cheap hospitality.

      ... of days we were fed up with sitting on the beach so hired a car for a week and set off on our first trip which was to Olympia.
