      We checked out of our hotel in Nafolio at 9 - just in time to miss the hordes of people from the cruise ship that docked overnight - taxi drivers even slept in their cars to be first in line for the fares. We headed north and west and drove a couple of hours to Sparta/i and Mystras.       ... shear rock faces that lead into craggy pinnacles. Great for the hundreds of climbers in the area but really bad if you’re a monastery builder as they all want them built at the top. Turns out to be a great sight in the 21st century. With the world’s worst map in hand we managed our way to the top of a rock, with no monastery on top, but a phenomenal view in the sunshine.
