      After another breakfast with the Zoto brothers, who drew us a map from Napflio to Tripoli which got us halfway, we pulled out our upcoming hotel's directions to get us to our place in Kardamyli. We loved these directions ... turn left at the grocery store, look for a Petro station and turn left, turn right after three stop lights ... our kind of directions!

      ... with frescoes in various states of repair - as well as one "living church" and home of now six nuns - who maintain the gardens and sell linens. This church has a visiting priest once a week and has some unique brightly painted frescoes. There are also a lot of stray cats there. Besides the churches - all are in ruins except the one tended by the nuns - there are the ruins of the Palace of the Despots.       ... of days we were fed up with sitting on the beach so hired a car for a week and set off on our first trip which was to Olympia. The 3 hour drive was worth it although we were concerned it would be overrun with tourists. Not so.
