... crater and the surrounding mountain peaks are covered with rainforest, plantations, waterfalls and tropical plants and gardens in this little island paradise. We would have liked to have done a 4wheel drive tour inland, but it was booked out, so chose a couple of water tours for our stay in Moorea.

We had two tours booked for the day. The first was a sail on a catamaran and the second was swimming with sharks and rays. We boarded the catamaran with about ...

Hi everyone. Just posting a short update to keep you in the loop. We arrived off Papeete on Saturday morning and requested permission to enter the harbour from the Port Authority. We were asked to stand off whilst a ferry entered the harbour and then proceed on our entry. All good. After the Ferry entered port we were given permission to enter and proceed to the anchorage. ... portion of the trip. 8 hours after takeoff, we land in Papeete, capital of Tahiti. It's 5am here, a little cloudy, foggy, TE dawn has yet to break. We can see the sharp volcanic mountain peaks in the middle of the island, a really cool sight. We zip through customs and head to our shuttle service. The bus is waiting for other reserved seats, so we have 20 minutes to spend. We decide to walk through a grab and go cafe. The ...

... out the underwater paradise. And it truly was a paradise! Lagoonarium really lives up to it's name, its exactly like swimming in an aquarium with the amount of wildlife that calls the area home. Rumour has it that they do put out some feed at times to attract sharks, but on the whole it seems to be fairly natural, and the area is kept up beautifully. I was glad we had inside connections though because most people spend $40 to $60 ...
