Scenery in Garden City UT and area

We spent a week in Garden City UT. Kinda cold, so we mostly stayed inside and did some necessary taxes and bill pays and other administrative work. But we did take a few walks and have a picnic lunch (in the car) a couple of days at the lake. On our way to the next destination (Panora IA). Looking forward to visiting the Timms!

Final update for today: we indulged in a little KFC tonight and got a sweet spot in between a pond and a cornfield. (The cornfield seems mandatory around here. The water was a bonus). Anthony got a couple of leads on a roommate today, but we're not getting our hopes up too much. Crashing soon and looking forward to crossing the halfway point tomorrow.

There is a frontal system passing just to our east. I was determined to get home today and pushed hard all day, but Andrew's foot fell asleep while he was sleeping and his cries, along with a peek at the day's mileage, made me realize that it might be time to stop for a rest. I ...

... family who are in the geographic region, we all agreed to a plan to take that weekend off, and wonderfully we all got together. One of Caryn's and my goals on this trip of five years was to see 'family and friends', and overall, I think we are doing pretty darn good in that catagory.

Central Iowa has much to offer other than ten foot corn, smelly pig farms, and scattered wind farms. They have Des Moines! As ...

      Rain Bloody Rain

A travel blog entry by lneiswinger on May 11, 2014

Well we wake up Sunday morning to the patter of rain drops. It is very obvious that there will be no planting today although we do not want to admit it yet. Of course breakfast is ready at 7am with sausage eggs and pancakes. No need to hurry as it is pouring pretty good. ...
