We rattled up the road from the ferry port in the back of a songteouw (a what?), which is basically a covered pick up with two benches in the back ( the name means two seats), along with a whole heap of groceries and laundry destined for our guesthouse in Haad Salad. Also in back and also clinging on to the roof bars for dear life were a lovely …

After 3 nights apart we were headed to the Gulf of Thailand to experience the island trifecta of Ko Pha-Ngan, Ko Tao and Ko Samui. Since last night I've been swaying back and forth like a drunk, still adjusting from the sea legs I got during the 3 nights away. After a great few days relaxing it's time to head back to Bangkok. We left the hotel at 12, catching some lunch next to the harbour. This took 5hrs but we now sit here with a beer in hand at ...

... was dreading the journey, but it was actually very nice and of course the sun was shining. Arrived in Koh Samui and picked up a taxi to take us the 45 min journey to the hotel. Finally arrived at our hotel at 1.00, eight long hours after we got off the train. The hotel looks wonderful, so time to chill out for the next five days. Bottle of Fizz waiting for us on arrival, what a lovely treat. Big thank you to Sacha & Roo xx

... cool it was! We were also luckily enough to catch a glimpse of a barracuda catching his dinner with one bite..And a baby octopus changing colour to try and disguise himself from us. We learnt many lessons this week, and Dill became a true diver after being sick through his mask 10m down!! We were very sad to leave Koh Tao and the people we'd met behind us after such a memorable week!! However we will be going back and we will next time definitely see a ...
