... the road and there was Russell Stover - we would have completely missed it. TENNESSEE, not Ohio. Got all our Easter stuff. Gas - 31.50 Russell Stover - 6:30 - our GPS says 8:00 arrival in Richmond - not sure I'm going to make it -- LOL. My damn feet are quite swollen and my ass hurts - can't take these longer ...

... party. A different band playing a different kind of music at each bar or restaurant, more street performers, and for those that missed Mardi Gras, a little parade comes through with a jazz band and 3 or 4 floats throwing beads to the crowds. It was really a lot of fun and the French Quarter really is beautiful. Next, we shot across Texas to the Big Bend National Park for some back country camping. We had to camp in Marathon, TX on the way and met the neatest couple ...

... the length of their snout - the largest in the park, is reported to be 15 feet long, with a 15inch snout.. Nice to see them in their habitat, BUT would not want the boat to break down, or worse still, spring a leak!!!
At the same Park there is a lovely canopy walk through the tree tops - being mid afternoon, the 4 of us were DRIPPY hot!!! and very glad to return to the aircon of the car, to cool down after our walk in ...

... a luncheon at one of them (Riverwood) for lunch with Chuck and Jan . A lovely traditional style clubhouse with reasonably priced food. Followed by, back to their home to watch the movie "Saving Captain Phillips''........... 5 years ago, Somalian pirates captured a huge container carrier in the Persian gulf, and eventually took the Captain as hostage - a great movie, based totally on this real event .

I love the Goodwill shops. ... while pottering about in our local store last week, I spied a lovely aluminum table and 6 chairs - table with a lovely 'plait effect' top and the chairs all swiveling and reclining with individual cushions - just so comfortable ...all for $200!!! someone obviously wanted a new one and gave that one to Goodwill. I sat on a chair and said "I am not moving until ...
