... angst doing a u turn in a fish market for some reason. In desperation in the end, despite our ultimate destination being the south coast for a spot of surfing, we headed in land to Praya, where we knew there was definitely an airport hotel which we had the address of. The kit gremlins have started to kick in and the rear pannier clip retainers keep popping free from their mountings if one of us goes into a pot hole too hard. This happened to ...

On November 14th we finished our Bali diving with Ana,

      ... Kadek.

It was a very sad time as many Balinese people were put to death by the Japanese for any small reason and many died while digging these caves for the Japanese to hide in during the war to ambush unsuspecting Allied troops. Unfortunately I couldn't get in to take photo's as I am too tall and with my ...

... found somewhere to stow our bags. Most of the passengers were sat in aeroplane-style seating in one large compartment, but we were offered to share a bench seat at the front with a Senggigi local named Eddy and his Dutch wife Rita. The heat and the choppy waters didn't make for a very comfortable crossing, and we were glad to set foot on Lombok.

We taxied to the hotel, which we'd pre-booked in order to have a few relaxing ...
