... about a 30-40 min trip around the shore to white sands beach. Alot of the beaches this end of Bali are black sand...which to a tourist i would think would be cooler to visit than a white sand one because white sand is more normal to us!!

Lombok was different to what we had expected but in a refreshing way, we saw less tourists than anywhere else we have visited and have therefore probably witnessed more of the true sasak hospitality. This destination is one of our favourites so far, and as we pack to leave the main island behind we are hoping that Gili Meno and Air can live up to our now high expectations, but fingers crossed they come with softer mattresses! ...

Heading out into the peaceful, Sunday streets of Candidasa, chickens and dogs chasing each other through the banana groves, we found a TV crew filming at a nearby hotel.
