... br> In fact, the little harbor of Aliki is just a 5-minute walk from our hotel's back gate. Almost every morning, we go to the back of the property past the pomegranate trees and the tomato garden, past someone's property with at least four big rabbits and then someone else's property with goats. We call out "kalimera" (good morning) to the people in their gardens and patios and then we are then greeted with a wonderful view of the ocean and boats. For the first ...

... and we arrived in the nick if time as the place was totally full within half an hour or so. Today felt cooler, possibly because we had a genuine breeze today, akin to what you'd get on a NZ beach though we think the day was a bit cooler anyway as was the evening - either that or we have acclimatised a bit. ... All the clubs in Ios are quite small but because there are so many its not a problem. Also because they are all in walking distance you find yourself going to about 6 different clubs each night. Girls get free entry so that was handy…sorry boys haha. The first night was crazy but we loved every minute of it. Basically the rest of the week we did the same thing everyday….wake up around midday, recover by the pool or on the beach, have a feed then ...

... which is a pasta dish with aromotiche`s in, whatever they are!

Had some plonk at Stavos Cafe which is owned by the bloke who has the beds, nice fellah. We had at lunch time had a Panini each and ice creams later. All very reasonably priced.

We then walk back passed Da Claudio`s and B and J are in. Whilst we have a chat the waitress brings over some limoncella and grappa. Was going to have a quiet night!

    Scuba Day

Today we went scuba diving for the first time ever. We woke up and ate breakfast, then headed on the bus to Agios (St.) Prokopios (?) beach, where we first hit the water and snorkeled. It wasn't bad, and a good way to start the day. After a lunch of Knox's first taste of gyros (he liked it), we headed to Blue Fin Divers for our "Discover Scuba" lesson. It included a 45-minute background lesson ...
