... Now, everyone is so used to all the **** everywhere, they don't know any different.

They established the Garbage Village as this is where all the city's garbage collectors lived & they started bringing the garbage here to recycle it. They now recycle about 80% of the garbage they collect, with the remainder going to landfill.

We then visited one of the recycling centers (which was also surprisingly clean!) & watched how ...

... 8211; or just about anywhere there’s air conditioning. We didn’t fly 16 hours non-stop just to do that, so we rent a car and do a bit of exploring. The traffic in the city is awful although rather less so on the weekend (that’s Friday and Saturday of course) and the road signs and direction boards are surprisingly helpful and easy to follow. After a metro ride to the wrong station, Judith and Jonathan attempted to remedy things by a forced march around what they called the museum but which turned out to be some sort of citadel built like a maze of short cuts ...

... again, everything was lovely and steamy. Perfect. I also hadn't noticed that in addition to a normal shower, we had a rainwater shower (three showers in one bathroom does seem a little excessive), which I love.

Breakfast was amazing. There were two healthy juices - red and green. I couldn't decide which, so we both had one of each (they were in tiny glasses). There was a multitude of cereal options, including bircher muesli and ...
