Trains, Plains and Photographs

... on the train as well. I thought that the pumpkin ice cream sounded a bit too weird but from all accounts, it was delicious.

We then caught a one carriage local train to Furano. That took about 90 minutes. We had to open the windows as the carriage was again, it was much too hot. Took a few photos out of the window, including that of two deer. Not the sharpest image but proof that there is wild deer in the Japanese forest. We had our gyoza lunch ...

... decks and windows to be able to see the animals very close or almost being in the middle of them. Unfortunately the animals were held alone, without pairs or groups, most of them mentally switched off, doing there endless rounds to have at least some escape from theri boredome.

Sad to see that this type of zoos still exist, we have zoos as well but very modern with motivated animals

Unfortunately the weather changed to become overcast and scattered rains. So we step out at Sapporo - the 1972 winter olymic game host city - and explored the botanical garden.
As it has been raining pretty hard, some of the parts were not accessible and still damp

Anyway in the Otori Park of the city was the famous Sapporo Beer festival. We can only imagine how it is in the evening, but we had lunch there. ...

... to the top, than it is, to the top of the pyramid and that only takes like, 2hrs!" (walsh's pyramid in cairns). I was less enthusiastic as to the summit climb, having trudged through snow previously, but not wanting to dampen the spirit i followed.
