Not enough animal viewing as the main lodge

I really pushed for this villa which sleeps eight because I thought it would be fun for all six of us ladies to be in one place. But because of its location, our view of the animals on the Serengeti was no where near as good as the view from the rooms in the main AK lodge where the animals are fed. It was a disappointment, which made it seem a not-too-good value. The room was nice, but very dark. The light fixtures are thematic and they throw very little light. I don't think I'd stay at Kidani again. The parking was limited and the trek to the lobby was a long one.

a great place to stay

We stayed here using our DVC points. We were warmly greeted at the main entrance and were informed that our room was ready even though we arrived early. The room is fabulous. I booked a standard view to save on points but our room, 7939, has a savanna view. you can just make out the pool but there is a watering hole just beneath our balcony. There are always animals out there, especially the okapi, which is rare. So far we love this resort. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, our room was spotless. the only disadvantage is probably the lack of a quick service restaurant but Jambo house is just a 5 minute ride by courtesy shuttle.

Princesses Do Animal Kingdom

Because we were staying on Disney property, we could take advantage of early Magic Hours at Animal Kingdom this morning. Meaning, we could get in at 8 am, a full hour before the rest of the crowd. Our plan was to depart at 7:15. We departed at 8:45. This group is a test of my organizational skills. ;-)

Nonetheless, we drove to AK, parked …

Princesses Do EPCOT

In order to make the most of EPCOT on one day, I suggested to the ladies that we needed an early departure (7:10) from the Sheraton in order to get to Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani Village, check in, check our luggage and get to EPCOT by 9 am when it opened. Amazingly, we did depart from the Sheraton at 7:10; equally amazing it took us 90 minutes to …

... happy about. Kids have been a bit up and down too, but think we are finally all sorted. Cooked breakfast at home, then headed off. It took ages to get there, map said 45 mins and was every bit of that - Legoland is miles away. Got to see a fair bit of the countryside tho, quite a few orange orchards ( it is the orange state)' and housing estates and shopping malls. Orlando amazes us - it is so so spread out. There is miles of nothing and then a ...

Day 8 On our Way Back Home

... that I'm just ready to get to the hotel and relax, we ended up on a 25 minute adventure. As we pulled out of the station, Jodi was unsung the app to guide me to Dominoes. She explains that is over the interstate about 4 miles. As we come up on the location our app is showing, we were on this two way avenue and completely in the dark with nothing in sight. We pulled over a couple of times to figure out what was going on. We decided to call ...

Fun Times ahead!!

... The next day, we rose early in order to be at the Theme Park as early as possible. We decided to go to the Magic Kingdom for the day, so that we could do all the typical "Disney" things like the tea cup ride, visiting the princesses, seeing the castle, watching the parades and going on the rides. The fairytale castle was even more amazing than I remember it last time. There is certainly something about being there that brings tears ...
