Villa Ilias is located in Firostefani which means the halo or crown (above) Fira, which is the main town centre, and where all the cruise ships dock. There are several nice tavernas to choose from in Firostefani itself, but we enjoyed the coastal walk and views into Fira, which we did most days to have a cheap gyros for lunch (our favourite was Lucky’s and I loved the tomato ball ones), or buy Greek cakes and pastries at a great bakery. ...

Of the wine produced only 20% gets exported, thus the reason you have not come across a wine from Santorini (more on the fermented juice later). We next head to the walled village of Pirgos, talk about being walled out, during our travels we have entered more ...

... and then went to see the virgin marys house and lit some candles. We then spent some time in ephasus looking at the ruins and then to kusadasi. we had a look at the shops for a few hours in kusadasi and then ended the day with an amazing dinner. We had fish slow cooked in salt for 45 minutes...the best seafood I've had! It was a long 12 hour day in 37 degree heat but one of the most memorable days on the trip so far. We all had an amazing time with the lovely ...
