... and 2 very heavy backpacks the ride across the bay and to the island was a slow one. We witnessed a beautiful sunset on the water that was tainted only by a massive boat that is building an oil drilling platform. A sad example of how our reliance on petroleum is destroying the natural beauty and true value of this planet. The weather worked out in our favor and we enjoyed +90 degrees everyday. ... only vehicle on the island we saw was an ambulance! Our hostel was a comfy wooden place. We had a balcony with a hammock across it! We headed to a beach side restaurant and ate a big dinner of tomato chicken whilst listening to sea lap on the sand beneath our feet. We went to bed feeling very excited to finally have a chance to lie on a beach in the sun after 6 fairly cold ...
