A travel blog entry by andyhill on Jul 22, 2014

... monkey but am not sure exactly what I was. When we reached the waterfall it ran over a large rock face and had a small pond with crystal clear water at the bottom. There were only a few people swimming there and I found out why when I got in. It was rather chilly. Although not as cold as the showers I was having at Terra Extremus in Chile it was well worth getting and under the waterfall. After my dip ...

Then me, Mike, Eugene and Janine went for food at a per kilo restaurant, where you weigh your plate and pay for how much you've taken. After we walked around the village a bit and stayed down at the pier, just talking. On the way back I got some beers to drink in the garden back at the pousada. Stayed up quite long ...

This is one of the most amazing islands I have ever seen. Situated 3 hours drive from Rio, it's just a little piece of heaven away from the bustle of Rio city. Pristine beaches, little pubs along the promenade, bands playing Pink Floyd while sitting with our feet in the sand with the waves splashing at us from time to time - naturally enjoying Brahma beer and some Caprinha cocktails. The evenings have ...
