Coral Bay Pulau Perhentian Kecil, Terengganu, Malaysia
... some rough places before but these were beyond belief! My parents shed is like a 5 star luxury hotel compared to some of these places! After viewing many rooms we managed to find somewhere that would suffice for a night. It was still dire but it had 4 walls and a roof even if there were some gaping holes in the floor! After dumping our stuff in the room, we headed out to find something better. There is a second beach on the other side of the island which we heard had a ...

Being so scared I just began to laugh uncontrollably which made other girls at the front do the same. The whole ride over basically had us girls laugh like maniacs while we felt like our heads were going to explode. By the end of the trip I literally had to take each finger and un-hinge them from the side railing of the boat. It took a good ten minutes to ...

Pualu Perhentian Kecil, Terengganu, Malaysia ericetmanu... the clear blue water. Of course I got burned because the sun is EXTREMELY strong there, and I ended up peeling all the way through Indonesia, but it was worth it because the water was so clear and the beach was so gorgeous there. We boarded a small motorboat when it was time to leave to catch our bus on the mainland and we were pleasantly surprised to see the Danish girls on our boat with us. All in all, our visit to the Perhentian islands was wonderful and even better because ...
Pulau Perhentian Kecil, Terengganu, Malaysia sarahandhanan... by everyone else. Not the nicest rum i've ever tasted, but ok with coke. I met a nice bunch of people on long beach, although a lot of them left 2 days after i got there (coincidence?). Having gone to the Perhentians on a whim, i decided to ask around dive shops to see how much diving would be and somehow ended up deciding to do an advanced open water diver course. You have to do 5 dives as part of the course and i ...

She was desperately calling for a mate and even thought that the puppy would do. She would lie down for him and he just thought it was a game and would pounce and bite. Rather a strange spectacle. We spent our days snorkeling, reading, swinging in the hammocks and catching up with Carmela. One day we took the kayaks our for a bit, but soon headed back to shore for yet another snorkeling outing. The snorkeling ...
Puala perhentian kecil, Malaysia kingsandems... got the boat over to the big island where we'd booked ourselves onto diving courses. Open water for me... now paid for mostly with prize money (sweet!). Thought my crazy fear of being in confined water would rear its ugly head again and prevent me from doing something which everyone raves about. Luckily this did not happen and I quickly got the hang of breathing under water and trying not to swim into the coral. Bloody amazing, I ...
Pulau Perhentian Besar, Terengganu, Malaysia vivtong... seemed happy, and the adults make do with what they have and what they can afford.
Generally, the villagers seemed accustomed to travellers walking through their village and they were not bothered with our presence. In fact, they were friendly and some were even curious when they realised that I could communicate with them in Malay.
We trekked back to our Resort again after our short visit and deep down, I felt guilty ...
... turtles.. Turtle, i.e. ONE. Didn't spot it initially until I saw a whole bunch of people gathering.. Lo and behold! The largest turtle I have ever seen in my entire life, to the extent it was a little scary. If that thing fell on me, goodbye world! But it was rather shy of all the attention it was getting and deftly swam away when too many ...
