Arthur's Town Cat Island, Out Islands, Bahamas, 242-354-2027
Juice's Corner:

WELL… today was our first full day on board. First off, the breakfast was DELICIOUS!!! Then mum and me went to a Tuscan Pasta making demonstration. The pasta was really good. Then after that we went to this shopping thing….VERY BOORING! It was one long commercial. So we met up with Dad and Jarod and went to Johnny Rockets for lunch… It was filling. Then we went to the arcade. Woah. I won the claw game twice. (pretty good eh?) and ...
Atlantic Ocean, Cat Island, Bahamas adelleg... aquamarine water... we were also greeted by the local stingray..... and a little historical tour of the island..... and a moment on a sandbar.... This is privately owned cay (pronounced as key) ... 44 of them owned by one person.

I would say this is one real Bahamas......
Saddleback Cay, New Providence, Bahamas hecqsOn our way to the island tour, we were welcomed by a friendly stingray and gave us the experience of being suctioned by its mouth as we tried to feed him. But then, he realized that we don't have any food for him so eventually, he left but gave us the knowledge of not fearing them. They are gentle creatures of the sea.
Saddleback Cay, New Providence, Bahamas hecqsA different kind of experience... feeding shark in broad daylight.....shoreside.....

Free port has one at Pier One, but you are like so high above the waters and in the evening. So all you are seeing are but splashes made by the shark as they feed.

Here, you will see the entire length of the shark under the very crystal clear waters, just one meter high.

Saddleback Cay, New Providence, Bahamas hecqs... Sean Connery standing around the bar in his half wet suit looking very cool and debonair. Not having seen the film I'm not sure how much revolves around this place apart from the cave which in itself is amazing. From the outside it looks like a very small rocky island or a very large rock, take your pick. But swim up close enough and at low tide you can start to see glimpses of light coming from within. Take a deep breath, dive and swim down and under for about 10 seconds and you pop ...
Staniel Cay, Bahamas bellavita... floor of the dinghy with my feet in the air as I slid towards Pete who between fits of laughter was dodging waves and the oncoming regatta sailors in the middle of a race. As these small sailboats with about ten crew on onboard, looked at the strange shrieking coming from the dinghy and a pair of legs scrambling in the air. Not my finest hour, in fact Pete says it reminded him of my mum screeching "Richard" at my dad as he put her through the similar torments. Must be genetic ...
George Town, Bahamas bellavita... two restaurants and three bars and a small airport you can fly into on Watermaker Airlines. As we were walking the dock from the boat, we noticed about 6 or 8 sharks in the water under our boats. The fish/conch cleaning table was at the head of the docks and this appeared to be the local shark hangout for lunch. Speaking of lunch, we had conch burgers at the YC ...
STANIEL CAY, Bahamas takinbetz... on the ocean. Sea turtles and large rays are frequently encountered while kayaking in Pigeon Creek. Bonefishing on the fly is exceptional in Pigeon Creek, and also in Smith Bay to the South and Orange Creek to the North. Restaurants & bars serving local fare (lobster, conch) are nearby. 50+ photographs of Cat Island and the "Boathouse" at www.catislandboathouse.com
Pigeon Cay, Bahamas escapeartist... while the others went ashore. When I had finaly finished all my chores ( woe , woe, and thrice woe ! )I went to get the tender. As I was walking along the open deck to get there I couldn't help but notice that the sea was more than a little choppy. The tenders were bobbing about quite a bit. I was in 2 minds as to whether to go or not. In the end I decided I would as I had arranged to meet H at 11 ( it was now 10.45 ) and he would worry if I never turned up ...
Princess cays, Bahamas jacontheroad... still going round. We arrived safe and sound on the Island of Eleuthera, at Governers Harbour, the center point of the Island. A taxi ride to our apartment for the week, made us realise we were in for some gooooood weather and a few mossies! Actually the taxi ride was quite funny. The driver must have been about 105 years old and we quickly knew that it was pointless engaging in conversation with him since as well as being slightly deaf, he was also ...
