We were bussed into Tournus for our walking tour as our ship was still being repaired from its previous bingle. Tournus was an old walled town, as most of them are, and it's main attraction was St Philibert Abbey. A Romanesque church, it was built between the 10th and 12th centuries and contained a quite large crypt originally used as ...

    Day 10

Finally we enjoyed a full English home cooked Breakfast at 8:30am consisting of bacon, eggs, toast, cereal and fruit. We went straight back to our room for another sleep before heading for the picnic at 10:30am, however when the alarm went off, walking an hour to have a picnic in the windy rain didn't seem like such a good idea, so we slept till noon. The rest of the day was pretty relaxing with lollies, chips, friends and alcohol. ...

After 1 more stop and a total of 7 hours driving we arrived at the Chateau and checked into our very small room, ...

... all to be consumed -goats, rabbits from small to giant, different birds, all sorts -
Departed Lauhans and headed back to Pont de Vaux over the next couple of days. Spent 2 nights in Pont de Vaux, refuelled and stocked up then headed for Lyon -3 days cruising south.
Met our first really big lock and handled it superbly. Stopped for the night at Macon and woke there to the sounds of the markets right next door to our mooring. Headed to Lyon -Frances 3rd ...

... Danish men also followed us into port

Then the heat seemed to increase throughout the afternoon. We had seen a Buffalo Grill on the way in not far from the marina where it would be air conditioned and we could have a meal and loiter over a couple of very cold beers. The lure was very strong and we had our favourite meal of spare ribs. We knew they would have WiFi but that was the only bit that did not happen as ...
