Cairns and the eclipse

Today we set the alarm for 4.00am. The total eclipse was due to occur at 6.38am but we wanted to be on four mile beach before dawn to watch it get light and then go dark again! Davies Creek Nationalpark
... Gitarre. Wurden jedoch kurzzeitig von einer giftigen, riesigen Kröte gestört, welche Leo jedoch ins Jenseits beförderte. Da wir in der Dunkelheit kein Zelt aufstellen wollten, machte ich es mir auf den Vordersitzen bequem und konnte erstaunlicher Weise gut schlafen. Obendrein war es im Van wärmer.

Das echte Great Barrier Reef
... hl. Zwischendurch fuhren wir auch durch eine kleine Regenwolke. Das Meer ist ei*****massen ruhig, keiner wird seekrank. Das Wasser ist 25°C, wir verzichten auf den Neoprenanzug.
Das Wasser ist klar, das Riff aber immer noch nicht wirklich so, wie uns die Prospekte das versprechen. Viel vom Riff ist grau und tot, aber es hat immerhin ziemlich viele bunte Fische. Blaue, rote, gelb-schwarz gestreifte und solche mit Punkten. für uns Fisch-Laien sind ...
Day 42 Port Douglas
... nice to try. Once the milk was finished we took it back to the guy who cracked it open and ground up the coconut for us to eat. Throw in an organic banana and some honey if you like and you’ve got yourself a tropical delight. There were two guys busking at the market, one playing a didgeridoo and bongo drums and the other a harp. We recognised them from a similar market we had been to at ??? in NSW last Christmas so they obviously travel to different spots ...
The Lead-Up to the Wedding!
... the flu though, and the descent had played havoc with her sinuses etc, we felt really sorry for her.
We went into town, picked up Marg & Bruce, then went to Cairns Central for lunch. We had a lovely time, sitting in the sun, laughing and joking, and it was good for Renee to just sit and stay still for a while. We then checked out a couple of shops before heading for Port Douglas.
