People on the train were very helpful and explained that we could get off at the next stop and take another train back. Hectic Day in Rome.
Today we took the train into Rome (about 6 stops) and then switched to the Metro for 2 stops to bring us within a 10 min walk to the Vatican. The train and metro were both very busy. We had been warned to be careful of pickpockets. One lady had her camera stolen right out of her pouch that was around her waist, and another man had his passports, wallet and money taken out of his pocket. Today we left our beautiful campground to travel through the hills of Tuscany to Rome. We made the mistake of thinking that it would be nice to take a scenic drive instead of using the superhighways. Not a lot happened today. Visited Rome, The Vatican... along with everyone else in Italy..., St Peters Basilica, Trevi Fountain, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
