    Canoeing on the lake

A travel blog entry by johncowell on Aug 07, 2015

Today Ruth and I took a canoe on the lake. We wanted to explore it more close to the coast. It was great fun apart from the burden on your shoulders. After an hour of paddling, our shoulders and forearms were worn out. We then had a relaxing afternoon by the pool, followed by a last supper at home before moving on to ...

... at a most inopportune moment. When we arrived in Como, even I needed a strong drink. Como was very busy with people out shopping. Lisa and Ruth found all the jewellery shops - we also frequented a few makeup and granita shops. We had a lovely afternoon wandering in the sun. The hire company had given us a map with suggested routes for our time in the lake. We decided to ...

She suggests we park in the neighbouring village of San Giovanni for free, and then take the tourist office suggested 2-hour walk through the glorious gardens of the Villa Melzi, the town of Bellagio and the village of Pescado.

All the attractions outside of ...

Woke up this morning to the best view. What a beautiful place. We are right on the water front. Its just turn 9 am and the sun is now streaming into the window. What a civilised hour for people on holidays.

The Boys have been for a run. Matt to get fit for the return season of hockey and Chris trying to keep up. As for me, no contest, I give up. I am injured! I have laboured under ...
