      We've just celebrated Easter, with a fast amount of food! Three things seem important here. Gigantic platters of lamb, thick walled pastries and family. I was lucky enough to be invited to join my friend Seb's family. He's the youngest of seven children most of whom were able to join us yesterday and we all squeezed around a big table for fried offal, mixed with artichokes, broad beans and red pepper.       ... it's concrete" Jason had explained last night and as the warm March sun (20degreeC!) began to dry the sods and wilt the piles of uprooted weeds, I could easily imagine the ground baking solid.       ... on their balcony waving (well john didn't get out of bed but did wave when we left) when we saw Linda waving we frantically waved back only to find out later that she couldn't actually see us so I expect there were other people waving at some woman on a balcony waving at them!       ... that was how you separated the cruise passengers from the locals. The crew on these ships work so hard. The waiters, kitchen staff and the cabin stewards all work on the ships to support their families back in Asian, North African or Central American countries. Our cabin steward told us he starts work at 5.30am, and finishes at 12.30am. They are contracted for the cruise season for 9 months, and they only occasionally, very occasionally, get a half day off.
