    No cars, no sirens...just the sound of water lapping up to the walls outside of our apartment...that's what we woke up to! It was peaceful and beautiful, so we opened up the shutters and got blown away by the wind...shut them immediately, ha! Stopped and picked up breakfast along the way to the Grand Canal. It wasn't our yummy sweet French breakfast, but meat, cheese and bread will do...yum!! Mom is getting used to the strong coffee, adding an apple strudel helped.  Walking ...

    ... we were back on the boat to go to another smaller fishing island called Burano (gotta check the spelling). The houses were all painted in bright colours so the fisherman could tell it was there Island. Dinner was at the hotel tonight and it was quite nice - spaghetti marinara for starter, chicken catchitori (spelling) for main and something I can't remember what it is called for ...
