... to explore the grand mansion which had colonial style grandeur from richer times, but a glory long past. Once there would have been servants and a bustling family life, elegance and grand gatherings, or so one can imagine. Since then the place has lain silent, till now, with the encentive of agrotourism feeding life energy back into its veins. We explored every room of the mansion; the grand upstairs dining room was a delight with its antiques and vast space and tall doors opening ...

... my oldeat son Jai facebook phoned me from London and as we chatted in the courtyard which was where the best wifi was, and after I learnt of his plans to go to a mass pillow fight in Trafalgar Square, the subject of my tick bite came up. The villa that we rented along with my brother Peter, his wife Sarah and their two kids, James and Emma, was a bargain at around 55 per night for a four bedroomed place with pool and proved to be excellent value. Yes it was a little remote but this tranquility sat overlooking olive groves on a private gated urbanisation was a far cry from the Spanish mainland in that no other properties could be seen from our terrace area. Even being ...

Last day... Despite not being at school, I think we had to get up even earlier today! We met with Lisa and Andrea and took a taxi to Santa Ponsa to meet John. From there, we began our boat trip to the island of Dragonera, near the north west coast of Majorca. The trip was great - more views of the beautiful Mallorquin coastline, blazing sun and the wind in our hair. We stopped for a swim in the sea en route to the island and had a lunch on the boat - ...
