... were lots of good stalls, and Dev treated herself to a nice necklace, and I bought her some hummingbird earrings :) we also shared a box of Gyoza dumplings which were delicious! We were still a little hungry so got a pizza from Dominos to share (works out as about £3.50 for a medium pizza, wish it was that cheap in the UK!) Great day in Byron Bay today. We're now resting in a cosy room with a good fan (thank god!) Tomorrow our next stop is Coolangatta :) ...

Somehow my knee thought I was ignoring it, because it took the time to let me know it was attached to my leg and I walked the last 2km swinging it. Sure enough near Brisbane we started seeing vacancy signs. We drove down a random street seemingly in the middle of no-where, found a Motel and negotiated a price down from $115 to $95. More expensive than we’d have liked but had comfy beds, ensuite and free unlimited fast internet so it was worth it.

Beaches, Babes & Hippies ... The coast has them all.

The next day saw us leaving Qld behind and heading to Byron Bay. The beaches are white, the water is blue, and the whales were frolicking off the lighthouse point. What more can be said?

From here to Yamba the coast line seems to be fantastic surf beach, after beautiful towns, after gorgeous views.

... where I had to sit back and think to myself how lucky I was to be sitting there having a bonfire on the beach in Australia with some truly amazing people. I can see why so many people get stuck for months in this gorgeous coastal little town. The area and the atmosphere are just so relaxed, and its exactly what I think of when I think of that freedom of the travelling lifestyle, and even life out in Australia. The town itself was just really beautiful and a cute little hippy town. ...
