    They forecasted rain today but they were wrong. It was a bloody Monsoon. We decided to just go for it and set off for Ballina. It was a shame to leave CoffsHarbour without having a chance to explore it in daylight without the rain but it was going to be very wet. Had one adventure in Grafton. Roma our sat nav took us down a dead end to a cement works when we where looking for a Breakfast stop. Found a McDonald's but couldn't get in. Walked right ...

    ... Hawkins again at Cheekies which was great fun. We also had two fun girls turn up in my room who lived in exactly the same town as Dan and knew of each other. (*insert Dads high pitch voice*) Oh its a small world! On my final day in Byron, my boy Luke Grant from Kiwi Experience turned up. So great to see him again and we had a hilarious catch up over a dominoes, of course.
    Its now on up to Gold Coast, Noosa and Fraser Island!

    ... but I decided to head on out into the sunshine and make the most of it. I spent a bit of time sunbathing on the main beach which is beautiful and then I did the walk along Cape Byron and up to the lighthouse. It was such a nice walk, the water was so clear and blue and I was rewarded for the steep, sweaty climb by seeing a huge pod of dolphins and some turtles swimming up to the surface to gulp in some air.     ... It's only an hour and a half or so until we can check in. After our fun night in Coogee, we were up at 10 to check out at 11, and then we caught the bus and train back to Central Station. It was unfortunately raining so we did have to walk around in the rain for a bit - Jonny was sensible enough to wear his hoodie but I was only wearing short sleeves - not good!
