... or at least that's how it felt. On my toilet break I discovered a row of four girls were sitting behind us who were barely out of their teens. Then the penny dropped. This was the graduating class of the Surfers Paradise schoolies week. So that explained the alcohol so early in the morning. The plane must be half full of party animals warming themselves up for Kuta if the snippets of conversation from behind us were anything to go on. "I can't wait for my ...

... made it a bit harder to choose fabric. There were at least 6 sections with batik fabric and I made my way around the shop (several times) choosing purples, blues, and neutrals, piling them on a table as I went. The idea was that I would choose a bunch first and then narrow down my selection later… However, we discovered that this definitely does not work with a quilter! Once you get all those lovely colours together, how can you say that you don’t ...

... on, but, on arrival, found it was more like a tiny home than a hotel room. The bed was on a mezzanine floor above a small living area, the "en-suite kitchen" had a fridge and a sink (but no way of actually cooking anything...), and we even had a breakfast bar. That evening we ate pizza and home-made ice cream at the local Italian restaurant before spending the evening ...
