... t born yesterday in this tourism world and we know to spot a scam.

The beach of Kuta itself is nice and we can't complain. The patch of sand is quite large, the waves are good for surfing and it is nice to see novices trying and pros succeeding.

The town has more KFC/Starbucks/McDonalds than Indonesian eateries. So I have a margarita. Just ...

Day 205 on route to Kuta

I was awoken by Sarah in a start. She was screaming that we overslept. In the mayhem of the bugs from the night before we forgot to set an alarm. The bus we had booked and paid for to take us back to Kuta was leaving in 10 minutes. This was by far the quickest I had ever packed my stuff. On one side was the massive terrible tourism side, where it's just a bit seedy, and about three hours drive away is some of the best of Bali. Beautiful lush scenery, rich in tradition and culture that is wonderfully proud and kept alive by its people. Great food that is simple, cheap and easy to cook. Go to Bali and see it all, go explore and find out more than we did, just don't go to ...

... shows that I have a small yellow box on my shoulder which they seem unconcerned about..

The flight is a bit bumpy and typical of jet-star you can buy your own refreshments on board. Flying from Adelaide across the bottom of Australia I get to see a lot of the landscape from my window seat. The flight is heavily booked and I've the slight misfortune to be siting next to someone who is wider than her ...
