      ... up with UV lotions and baked by the water's edge. Back from the beach, a full buffet lunch was provided with ample shaded picnic tables. It was actually a pretty decent spread, with char-broiled burgers, hot dogs and ribs, lots of fruit, salads, breads and desserts and cold beverages. Alcohol was available at separate bars,

      We stopped here and wow has the area built up! Now, there are shops and shops and shops and so many "toy" rental places. The buffet from the ship moved onshore, but we had a rather late breakfast so we weren't hungry. They even had fruit bars. Wish we had waited...it smelled wonderful...bbq ribs & all the ...

      ... the rock face to a natural harbour behind with mooring bouys. Just settling in with our first sun downer and Linda and Mark arrive back from a tour and hop on board for a cheeky drink too . A friendly couple of Canadians moored behind us, who tell us all their snorkelling stories, swimming with dead fish and meeting sharks! I renamed him Crocodile Dundee and mental note to self not to swim when we see their boat around us next time! Must be good in here as even spotted ...

      ... Powell Point the wind increased to persistent 23-28kts (the forecast was for 15, gusting 20), and we had much more wind than we wanted. Fortunately the wind angle wasn't so close that we needed the genoa and we left it furled, leaving the main to manage against the wind on this brisk final leg. Of course, the wind slacked as soon as we got into Rock Sound Harbour as a line of clouds departed the vicinity.

      You see Holland America (the cruise line) owns the island and every Caribbean cruise of theirs spends a day of their itinerary ashore. Mind you it is a very pretty island. Perfect white sand with deck chairs aplenty, meets the clear blue water. Perfect boardwalks and manicured paths take you to amenities.
