... we need as humans, rather than utter tranquility we may need to listen to others and so so much ourselves. Wow I'm feeling a bit deep, must be the painkillers I'm on for my bulging disc that decided to pop last Monday morning while writing a few cards, Yes sitting happily at the table i immediately could not sit or stand or find any position that my back would hold and have pretty much spent the rest of the week on my back or standing up, no sitting for this ole girl!!

... strange, after all it's only cowboys that take part in rodeos, not accountants and lawyers, but they all take it really seriously. It was quite surreal, and I felt like I was on the set of a cowboy movie or something. Anyway, the rodeo was really good fun, although I don't think I know anyone who would be brave enough to take part. There were a couple of times I had to look away because the cowboy's hand got locked into the mould on the back of the bull, and in ...
Gympie, Queensland, Australia vicky193... this was Spain there would be thousands of people. Here there were barely enough to count on two hands.....
The wind was blowing quite stiffly keeping the temperature at a lovely bearable level for us, not being used to this level of heat. I guess it was about 24C. The locals thought it was cold still!
We stopped for lunch in the Coffee Club, Coolum and had a superb 'light bite' BLT with ...
... the boat driver we were also advised to see the Carlo sandblow, a 120m high dune, which we would have otherwise missed. Along with the beach it provided stunning vistas. Our next destination was Noosa, where we got later in the afternoon. It's a city of a 100 roundabouts, but luckily we managed to obtain a street map at a tourist office even after opening hours. The plan for the evening was simple - a farewell B.B.Q. dinner. We ...
Noosa, Queensland, Australia tsimko... Wilson also surfed in a final heat today but i didn't stick around long enough to find out the results. after the men's invitational heat ended we walked further along the beach to the Noosa National Park to try and see some wildlife (and of course, more surfies). it may have been the surf festival or maybe it was because of the really good surf, but man, they were EVERYWHERE. there were quite a few more breaks along the NP and though i didn't see any koala.... i did see a goanna!
Noosa, Queensland, Australia katelinDan- After saying farewell to Brisbane we picked up a hire car and headed north is search of sun, sand and sunburn. Our first stop was a brief stay in Noosa, a small town on the sunshine coast a few hours north. Due to the Noosa Triathlon being held that weekend (2nd largest triathlon in the world behind Chicago) the whole area was fairly inaccesible so we decided to cut short our stay and head up to Hervey Bay so that we could hire a 4x4 and spend a few days camping ...
Noosa, Queensland, Australia sarahdan... his arm to get them off... SWOOOOSH - they both landed on my head!!! Seriously! Talk about tame! We finally managed to get rid of them, checked ourselves for poo and feathers (finding none thank goodness) and headed to Noosa Marina to check out the market. Will chatted to his brother on the mobile while I wandered round looking at various arty crafty things in the market - very nice but nothing worth carrying round for the next 6 ...
Noosa, Queensland, Australia willndebs... caught us some Bream for dinner (Deb cynially points out that if the boat was just for fishing, the fish cost us about 40 dollars each). A memory that will stick forever is when I was fishing early one morning and feeling dejected after losing most of my bait and tackle to a big fish when a Stingray wafted up to the edge of the sand where I stood. It was about 1.5 metres across and looked like it was just enjoying basking in the shallows at low tide, totally unperturbed by my ...
Mooloolaba, Australia twogypsiesTold you I'd send another entry as soon as. The girls are all still asleep and the computer was free so thought I'd take advantage of that. We all can't believe it december already - only 21 days till christmas and another christmas without mum, dad and nic and this time without Jack too. God it's gonna be a weird one. Ok so after Fraser Island and Hervey Bay we headed to Rainbow Beach, planning on spending just the one night there before moving onto Jen's mum ...
Gympie, Australia smiffy... probably the same guy that convinced George W and his mate Tony about the Iraqi stockpile of weapons of mass destruction! ;)
Whatever, it wasn't the most powerful boat in the world, but it was fine for us, so Captain Al set sail for a 2 hour ...
