They are very lovely people and I have enjoyed spending time with them as well this visit. They have a Christmas present for me that I'm not allowed to open until Christmas so that when I do, I think of them! Off for pizza for dinner and then home to pack my ...

So much food!! 4 courses for lunch are difficult to get used to for someone who usually only had a sandwich. Franca is lovely, very friendly and a very good cook! We have a cuppa and a chat with one of the locals. He points out a town on the next hill, Tavuillia, and tells us that it is the birthplace of Valentino Rossi. We drive through it a bit later on our way to the walled castle town of Gradara. Tavuillia is decked out in yellow banners ...

... choices. The food is very good and I have a selection of cheese and cured meat (the prosciutto is delicious) and then some pasta. The others all have dessert as well, a selection of 4 desserts on the one plate, all linked by raspberry jam/sauce. It looks delicious, but I resist the urge as most of the desserts on the plate are ice creams! So my Italian lessons are now put to the test: can I understand enough to know what some of the conversation is about? ...
