Eventually Nyeman is hopelessly lost and we eventually resort to asking the locals for directions. In Bali there are few signs advertising these resorts as the government taxes them an extra 10% for having a business, so the signs are taken down and it's up to the guest to find the place they're staying at. Some of the Holiday Inns should adopt this method because I've not met anyone who really wants to stay there.

... br> Am spaeten Nachmittag landeten wir in Labuan Lombok an. Dort stiegen wir um in den Bus nach Senggigi auf der Westseite der Insel Lombok. Da es bereits zu spaet war, um noch am gleichen Tag auf die Gilis ueberzusetzen, mussten wir dort eine unspektakulaere Nacht verbringen.

Last night we had a pretty fantastic thunderstorm. The growling clouds rolled in
around 5 oclock and played out a booming chorus that woke me up from a
nap and was accompanied for a couple of hours by the drumming and dripping of rain ...
Bali part II, wherein I actually do relax.
... beautiful costumes and interesting movements although neither of us had a clue what was going on. There was a demon-dog called a Barong, who had a tiff with a monkey. There were a couple of courtly men, a woman whose mother condemned her to death but escaped from the clutches of the evil demon after some type of heated emotional exchange…Then I think evil demon died…and some more entertaining acting. It was good anyway, let’s leave it at that. ...
