We spent 2 nights in Unawatuna, a small beach town saturated with (rich Russian) tourists. We arrived with great anticipation, but knew to move on quickly as further south there would better untapped beaches filled with endless water sports and exotic wildlife!

This area is pretty swanky and I passed another couple of hotels that looked way out of my budget when I came on another strange thing namely a lighthouse that was completely obscured from the seaward side by tall buildings. How very odd so back again to VT for an explanation.
