... other girls had just about finished their rehearsal which was good timing. I also got to see all the lights that they had put up. Every day at the conference did mean an early start as transport was put on for us all from the YC, but first we had to get there, which meant us leaving about 6.45 each day, luckily transport was also put on for this bit as well, in the form of a mini bus. Saturday started off with a short trek in the jungle, this wasn't too bad although the heat definitely made it harder. There was some stunning scenery, although unfortunately I didn't take my phone as I didn't want it getting wet. We were passing by some houses yesterday and we had seen people washing themselves and their clothes in the river. It's pretty humbling that they are doing that whilst we just have fun in the river. ... good. Then at 8:00 our coordinator comes to hold a meeting with all the volunteers to make sure our days were all good, and if we have any concerns. Our coordinator is really great. He is available to us 24 hours a day if we ever are in need of anything. Meeting over at 8:30, and then social time for about an hour and catch up with how the other volunteers days went, or play games. I should also mention that calls and texts here really are cheap. I loaded the card with 1,000SLR which as we now know is about £5 sterling. I have made a few calls and sent a few texts and the last time I looked I still have over 990SLR left so I have effectively used five pence so far. I suspect my card will not need to ...
