... we had exhausted 5 or 6 islands our time was up and we headed back to Koh Yao Yai, but not before getting caught in the worst storm of the day. 1 hour later the rain had cleared and the island showed no signs of any storm. Today is our last day in Koh Yao Yai. Tomorrow we head to Koh Phi Phi for a couple of days - which should be our last island before heading back to mainland and over to ...

    Last day

Enjoyed a leisurely breakfast, then decided to head back to Nai Harn beach for a relaxing surf. Water was lovely and ************e there. Hadn't realised there were a whole lot of beach restaurants and souvenir shops there. Headed back via Karon beach shops and enjoyed a refreshing ice cream and some last minute shopping. Back to the resort. Steve still not that well. Surprised to be given another fruit basket at lunch time. Rambutans were lovely. I enjoyed a last swim in the ...

Next we stopped at Rassada wharf where all the ferries head to the islands. We then found our way to Chalong Bay ...

Next we visited the factory outlet centre, bought quite a bit including a lovely red crocodile wallet for $200, reduced from $400. Also bought sandals, board shorts and shorts for Steve. Back to the hotel, where Steve had a rest as has an upset stomach. I headed to the pool for a late lunch and a ...

Day 5 - Phuket Weekend Markets

A travel blog entry by mrado on Nov 01, 2014

Started a very overcast day poolside and around 1pm the heavens opened up. Off to our room to crack open a bottle of bubbly. Ho hum, what else does one do. Later that afternoon we headed out to the Phuket Weekend Markets. Now this place really does have everything. A fair few vendors have fixed price goods which makes life really easy. T Shirts 100B, copy sunnies for 80B and the ...
