... nesting, I was in utter amazement.   The first one we saw was on shore and had already dug her nest.  As we were admiring her in the light of a nearly full moon, I gazed up the shore and saw a lump along the shallow surf line...perhaps a pile of seaweed, but then it moved…. not quickly, but deliberately.  Maxwell and I hustled up the beach to get a closer look and confirm our find.  There she was, a beautiful ...

... It seems to be somewhat busy but is nice and "walkable." Lots of "shell seekers."

A couple of miles south lies the more secluded Stump Pass Beach, part of Florida’s state park system. The park claims the entire southern end of the key. We have walked it several times now and there are nature trails too where you can see tortoises and egrets.North of Englewood is Blind Pass, apparently a great place ...

Had a lay in today but decided to take a ride down to Siesta Key, Sarasota as we have never been down there. Took the scenic route down the US-41, in hindsight we should have took the interstate as we didn't leave until 11am which meant we didn't get to Anna-Marie beach until 1pm then it was a long slow ride along the coast to Siesta Key village. As it was such a long hot ride we decided to get ...
