Paul has played a few times at a local course called Oyster Creek but he has been itching to play some of the "nicer" courses nearby.
Two of these courses are Boca Royale and Riverwood. Both get excellent ratings and Riverwood is rated 15th in the entire state of Florida.

... Siesta Key Beach plays every Sunday in Sarasota, about an hour or two before sunset.
This is not a commercial event but a local phenomenon that apparently began spontaneously and now has a life of its own. It is free-form drumming, open to the public and entirely improvised in-the-moment. A very informal gathering of like minded drummers.

The entrance sign says it is
certified as a "Blue Wave" beach by the Clean Beaches Council. Not sure exactly what this means but it was a different beach than many of the others in that it was more natural and certainly more rugged.
Heavy surf, lots of sandpipers and ring necked gulls. We plan to stop again and maybe try to find a shark tooth or two.
