Sunset in Oia seems to be a big deal. There are tourists everywhere - hundreds of them. They grab their photo spot on a roof, road, from a restaurant and some with fancy cameras and tripods. It looks a little ridiculous. The sunset was nice but it was definitely talked up a lot!

Began the walk back up. It was getting much warmer and of course was a little more difficult. We had walked a short distance and stopped to catch our breath and enjoy the view and let a group of donkeys heading down get past us.

... or field, even in small patches of ground next to a house. The grape bushes are grown low, not staked high. They are allowed to touch the ground and the strongest branches are wound around the plant so the grapes can be grown in the center of the "basket." We actually stopped to examine this different way of cultivating grapes and sure enough, in the center, beneath the wide flat leaves of the plant were little bunches of Rene grapes. The guide explained to us ...
