    ... went for a swim with mother Eran relaxing by the pool, keeping her company. We joined Eran outside by the pool and had a wonderful chat and skinder (gossip) until the dark enfolded us. When Sian, who had gone back to the apartment in the meantime, came running up to Eran saying "Mommy, it's 19:30, I am hungry!", all three grownups said sorry and slunk back to our respective dwellings.

    We hired a bike for the day and went off to explore Samui. It was stunning!! We saw a buffalo next to the road eating and went over to speak to the couple with it. The lady told us it was used for fighting. She told us that there's big money in buffalo fighting and often Thai families would put their money together to buy, train and enter their buffalos into competitions- it can cost a million baht!
