... to soak it all in. Our last night in Amsterdam was at a fine Mexican restaurant in the Liedseplein area of this city. I just love the friendly Dutch people in this historic city that have a common mentality of tolerance, happiness and free spirited nature. We also love the architecture, food, friendly conversations and watching the styling Dutch people whizz by on their Dutch bikes. This is one of my favourite cities in Europe and it is always hard for me to leave.

Afterwards we went to an all you can eat spare ribs place which was absolutely delicious, I got two extra orders and was quite full, and pretty ...

Passport, bags and we're on the train to Central Amsterdam. Taxi to our hotel in the Harry recommended area of Museumplein, right near Rijksmuseum A rest from 24 hours of travelling then to a local cafe/ beer hall for sustenance after all that "airline food". Monday 21st July A welcome sleepin was in ...

... and markets

We enjoyed walking along Albert Cuypstraat market, sampling the little Dutch pancakes and other goodies. We opted against the traditional herring - just did not appeal! Other delicacies we tried of course were the bitterballen (deep fried gooey balls of awesomeness), a great snack washed down with beer at a brown bar. Thanks to LP, we found a great croquette place just off Rembrandtplein called Van Dobben which lived up to its name of having ...
