... it was dinner party night and a Thai chef had come to cook us some delicious food. He made Claire a special veggie version which made her very happy. We spent the evening talking to Satoshi(the Japanese man we had met 2 weeks ago at the last dinner party) and various Australians. Also it was the owner of the Hostels birthday so there was a pancake cake and we sang happy birthday. Lovely.

Hi everyone,

Last time I wrote a bit about my first couple of days in Tokyo, this time a bit more about Tokyo, and something about Ito and Mt. Fuji.

Como veréis, ¡aquí por fin salimos los 3 juntos!
Esto es gracias al guía con el que hicimos la excursión (Augusto). Altamente recomendable, muy atento y simpático, aguantó pacientemente todas las preguntas qué hicimos sobre el Fuji y sobre todas las japonesadas que habíamos visto...

... The bus took longer, but the ride is straight up the mountain and has beautiful views.

Tokaikan used to be a ryokan in the 1920s, is now a national monument for its elegant woodwork, and now all 3 floors are open to the public for viewing.
