Travel Blogs from Kissimmee
It was 11:00 PM when our plane touched down in Orlando, Florida. Despite the fact that we had been travelling all day and 1/2 the night, we were all keen to experience a warmer climate. With our luggage we took the subway to the main terminal where we easily found the car rental booths. Once there, we discovered that we had to wait until after …
We (wife and 6 yr. old grandson) only had 1 day to visit on our first trip to Florida. We had been to Disneyworld the last 2 days and were impressed with the cleanliness, friendly staff as well as the fast pass feature.
Universal Studios had friendly staff, it was clean, BUT, wanting us to pay for their equivalent of the fast pass in …
Magic Kingdom is probably the best known of the Disney resorts and for good reason, as I will discuss later on.
This was our (wife, grandson) visit to Florida and also to Disneyworld. We were going on a cruise so wanted to include a short couple of visits to Disney whilst in the area prior to our departure on the 5th Feb.
We had rented a …
This isn't really the start of a blog because it's not really an adventure although, who knows, it might turn into one!
I just thought you all might be amused to know, in view of our historically detrimental effect on weather, that it's raining here in Florida. In fact they have had a record breaking 3 inches of rain in the …
... etc. There was an adjustment to make with every hotel…the A/C, heater, locks, remotes, TV channels…all of this is a challenge to someone with Fibromyalgia. But I got through it without complaining once about my physical challenges. That makes me proud. And Steve helped a lot…he was the work horse, moving stuff in and out, walking the dog, taking care of hotel business. We had a routine…check in, pour the ...

We arrived about 1 AM, and could not get in past the gate as the directions for the keypad to open the gate would not work. We were tired from a long flight and I was starting to wonder what we would do when a vehicle pulled up behind us and a young man came up and entered his own number, which gave us entry. Driving in we soon found the main building and the night staff were very friendly and helpful. After signing us in, we followed the one staff member to our condo where he showed me how the keypad worked for the door. On entering, we were very impressed. The place was very clean, big and surpassed our expectations.
During our week long stay we enjoyed the pools (2) and I even used the exercise room once. The location is excellent, as it is only 2 miles from Disneyworld's Animal Kingdom. The facilities, as I said, were very nice and we enjoyed our stay a lot and would definitely go again. The place were were in had a hot tub (which had to be topped up once, and this was done quickly), 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, fully stocked kitchen, laundry, living room and 2 TV's.
The only problem we might have had was to find the place the first time. Thank goodness for GPS, as it took us right there, or we would never have found it.
