Irina and our guide, Lucia, at the market. Lucia grew up during the Indonesian occupation. She recalled being interrogated by the police when she talked to a foreigner. Her brother joined the Indonesian military during the occupation and now lives in Bali. Families have been torn apart by the troubles over the years.
