Turned out we had to pay for an extra seat on the bus down to Bukittinghi from Nias, so on a whim, Horas (whod come over to the mainland from Nias to check his email) came down for a look-see as he'd never been there. So after the 12hr ferry, and the 11hr bus, he crashed in our room for the nite then got up the next morning and went back.
