This is a breadfruit. It is a local delicacy in Seychelles - as well as in many other tropical countries.
Breadfruits cannot be eaten raw. They need to be cooked. In Seychelles we prepare it in a variety of ways; grill it and serve it piping hot with yummy butter/margarine melting on it or we cook it in a local dessert known as "La Daube". We also slice it up and fry it and eat it like crisps.
