09 Orange trees of hope
I visited the Monastery of Santa Catalina, one of the major attractions of Arequipa. It is a large monastery described as a "town within a town" where nuns would be cloistered for their entire lives. Now only a small section of it is used by nuns while the rest has become a tourist attraction. I did the night tour. Here you can see a courtyard where orange trees are planted. They're supposed to signify hope.
