Rice fields meet mountains, Mia Chau, Vietnam

This is early morning in Mia Chau. The rice fields grow right to the edge of the cliff. Not much land is wasted. The irrigation system is very complex and consists of many small drains, with water flowing through each field and ending up back in the river.
