Van Cat
No, we did not take this picture, but you might as well suffer with us. Van is also famous for the Van Cat - a rare, white cat with two different colored eyes which supposedly likes to go swimming. The tourist board in Turkey and in the Van region get quite a bit of mileage out of this elusive feline. We never saw one except for in the tourist brochures, on postcard images, and a massive, mostly obnoxious statue erected in the middle of a major boulevard. I'm also sure there must be some eccentric cat lady in Van who has them running all over her house. We failed to find her or a living version of the cat and we're over it now. Do your own research.
