Getting to Mall Road

Andrew was afraid I was going to break the camera, but I just strapped it to my side with a scarf and took off! Notice all of the car honking. This was normal. At 1:27 you see a line of stores. This is where we did all of our normal shopping, with the chicken shop, beer and wine shop, vegetables, and ATMs. It also had our favorite delivery place, Momo's Point. At 1:50 the camera gets (even more) shaky because we are going over a part of the road that was being "repaved." It was basically just dirt. Riding this road every day makes me never complain about a bumpy road in the states. At 2:40 notice the bike rickshaw... old school style. At 3:11 Andrew demonstrates how crappy our bikes were (even though we bought them new). When he would hit the brakes, absolutely nothing would happen. Oh well, who needs brakes anyways. At 3:24 you see the large concrete buildings on the left. That is the Women's hostel. It was basically a prison. Many people pay a lot of money to keep their daughters there while attending DU, because it's safer than apartments. Although "expensive" is like $100 for six months. 3:40 notice the cow in the middle of the street. 4:20 the camera gets shakey again because we are going up a hill around the bus station which is really busy and chaotic so I couldn't hold onto the camera. 4:48 notice how the bus just cuts across traffic, it's your job to get around it. 5:37 the group of school kids almost get taken out by a scooter (who isn't slowing down but just honking). 6:04 another cow in the street. 6:43 we come to the major crosssection (which is why there is so much traffic) You can see Andrew dodge in and out of traffic ahead of me. 7:40 we get to Mall road, the main road First we cross a bridge which covered the drainage system. Where we would have drainage pipes underground this was just a free flowing river of waste. It did not smell good (to say the least).

Yikes! Thank god you made it..alive. I did notice a suspecious lack of WBs (wide bodies) or FPs (fat people) depending on how you look at it. Is everyone skinny there. And that humongous cow, I felt like clapping, not sure why. Cows ar cool.
I enjoyed the trip, thank you. Actually I enjoyed the whole trip, thank you for letting us all live vicariously through your blogs an stuff. (it also makes me appreciate a good pizza). And we all got together and decided that your next trip should be somewhere like China or Russia because most of us want to go there except we dont got the guts.

Cheers and thanks Jeff
