01 Antiquarium at the Residenz
This is the oldest extant part of the Residenz, the "townhouse" of the Wittelsbach dynasty. It was used as a dining hall, with duke sitting on the dais. The "ancient busts" of Roman emperors and other notables connected the family to the ancient Roman empire. Sayings in Latin reminded the readers of their responsibilities to govern wisely.
