In 1972 several members of the 44th engr bn constr who were camped nearby, went to the small town of Changwon and together with the local Koreans, we cleaned, painted and did some repairs to a small building that looks very much like the building in this photo. We also did the same to several other old small buildings. These same American soldiers also used to go around to the many orphanages around Masan, Chinhae, Changwan as well as a few in Pusan and distribute gifts and games and clothes to the children.
