Only when walking the tight lanes of Dubai's Deira district would you get any indication that you were actually in an Arab/Muslim country, and even here the vast majority of the people on the streets are African immigrants and locals in western attire. It all goes to show how western Dubai is. You won't see many 5-star hotel guests on these streets, unless of course they are peering at you from the comfort of their air-conditioned tour bus.
