Georgia was another eye-opener for me. Georgia has some of the oldest European human remains and evidence of neolithic man - and we just don't hear about it, or at least I'd not heard about it. In fact, Georgia was a big mystery for me. Aside from knowing it'd been part of the Soviet Union, and now of course they've a terribly deteriorated relationship with Russia (they're still at war, wow).
